Passing On a Church Building To a Young Church Plant

A story shared through our conversation with Tammy Giffen, Pastor of Groundswell Church.

“A kingdom win is a kingdom win for all of us.”

In 2020, Groundswell Church began to work alongside the historic First Baptist Church in Truro, Nova Scotia. As they partnered in ministry throughout the year, a conversation began about transferring the building. One of their dreams of First Baptist Church was that they could pass this on to their children and grandchildren.

“We don't want to see any more churches in Canada closing their doors. But if they have to, we hope stories like this can unfold time and time again.”

The legacy of First Baptist Church will be continued through Groundswell Church, and the Kingdom is better for it.
